Knott’s Scary Farm 2014

Usually by this time we would already know what to expect to be lurking in the fog but this year they kept us in suspense. Unlike their "Nowhere to Hide" tagline from last year, the folks at Scary Farm had really been hiding out but alas we now can confirm just about everything we expected to see returning (and buried) for the 42nd Halloween Haunt. In addition, 3 new mazes, promising even more unique interactive elements and expensively themed settings were revealed as replacements for the deceased mazes.

Haunt Review: Knott’s Scary Farm 2013

With "Nowhere to Hide" we successfully survived another year of Knott's Scary Farm Halloween Haunt! This year solidified Scary Farm's reinvention with the most highly themed and exceptionally crafted mazes in it's 41 year history. In comparison to other big SoCal Theme Park Haunts (er, Universal) Knott's still wins big in creating the perfect feeling of a big Halloween celebration.

While you'll find common maze themes across the parks such as Zombie infested schools (Zombie High), blood thirsty scarecrows (Cornstalkers) and Sinister Sideshow Clowns (CarnEvil), each park offers it's own unique 'cut' of these themes mixed with their own local offerings making them all worthy of a haunt stalking.

Haunt Review: Knott’s Scary Farm 40th Haunt

For the past few years, we've been "a little critical" of Knott's Scary Farm which seemed to be falling behind as newer and more innovative haunts have populated the Southern California area. However, this year, there's no mistaken that the venerable Haunt is back and ready to prove that there's still more to fear inside the Scary Farm. We won't call it a come back because they've been haunting for 40 years, but this year Knott's Scary Farm presents one of the most fun, nostalgic, and most importantly, scary Halloween Haunts we've experienced there in years.

Screaming Soon: Halloween Haunt at Kings Island 2012

This year's Haunt features a line up of 12 haunted "mazes" (some sound more like scare zones to us) and 3 shows along with their signature thrill rides. Halloween Haunt is included free with park admission to Kings Island. Kings Island 2012 Gold and Cedar Fair Platinum Season Passholders can enjoy unlimited admission to Halloween Haunt.

Knott’s ReVAMPs Dominion of the Dead for 2012

After an entire season without any vampires at Knott's Scary Farm, they're now coming back. There were numerous reports from this weekend's West Coast Bash at Knott's Berry Farm that the classic vampire maze, Dominion of the Dead, will get "revamped".

In a sudden turn of events, Cedar Fair has announced that they are no longer going to sell their California's Great America park. This...

Haunt Review: Halloween Haunt at California’s Great America 2011

The Scare Zone crew took a trip to Northern California and checked out the Halloween Haunt at California's Great America (CGA). This was our first to visit their haunt and we were very curious about it given that it's a spin-off of Knott's Scary Farm. The fun part for us was looking for the similarities and being able to compare the two haunts as they have quite a few mazes that are similar to current and past ones at Knott's.
