Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen a new type of horror experience pop up : The Horror Camp. We first heard of this type of event back in 2012 with Horror Camp Live!, in Lancashire, England. It quickly spread to the United States, with the Great Horror Campout in Los Angeles in 2013 (and now spreading to other U.S. cities in 2014). And Canada is joining in the outdoorsy terror in 2014 with 13 Hours of Hell.

Bingemans’ 13 Hours of Hell
If you love horror, zombies and being scared out of your mind, then you won’t want to miss this because 13 HOURS IN HELL is just what the doctor ordered, Welcome to the Camp Contagion experience.
13 HOURS IN HELL is an overnight campout experience in which you will encounter unspeakable horrors and participate in several challenge events throughout the night.
In addition you will experience a unique dinner and breakfast for all participants, all while being fully immersed in this nonstop interactive horror adventure.

Great Horror Campout
This year, the Great Horror Campout in Los Angeles is moving to the Old Zoo at Griffith Park, the location where the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride is held (Ten Thirty One Productions produces both events).
This ISN’T your 9-year old son or daughters’ camp, and “Happy Trails” will be a figment of your imagination. This camps only desire is to ruin you! CAMP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
The Great Horror Campout (GHC) is a “choose your own adventure” overnight, interactive camping experience.
Campers can decide how extreme of an experience they get by their choice of activities. Certain tent sections or activity zones labeled as “Chicken Zones” will be milder while everything else keeps campers “FAIR GAME.” However, whether it’s to participate in the “Hell Hunt,” use the restrooms, or walk to a movie screening, even campers whom want to sleep or hang in their tent with friends will find themselves having to go into the dark sooner or later. Should you find that you just can’t take anymore or feel a little dribble of urine heading down your inner thigh, you can always shout the safe phrase “I WANT MY MOMMY” and we promise the nightmare will end. Although we can’t understand why anyone would want it to.
Lasting 12 hours (8pm-8am), campers will find themselves confronting every fear that haunted them as children. Campers will have the opportunity to meet a plethora of species that were only thought to have existed in legend.

Horror Camp LIVE!
Horror Camp LIVE! is an overnight immersive experience, based in the fictional Campground Mass Acre. Over 13 hours, campers become part of an interactive living horror game.
Inspired by movies like The Blair Witch Project, Cabin Fever and Friday the 13th, Horror Camp Live! is a unique scare entertainment experience which mixes live scareactors, indoor and outdoor scare attraction environments, dare based challenges and a horrifying story which comes to life in four dimensions of fun fear.
As darkness falls on the campground, campers meet around the camp fire before enjoying a two course buffet style meal while watching one of the latest horror movies, but all is not what it seems, as the terrifying night ahead becomes all too apparent, and Lockjaw – the demented serial killer, makes his presence known.
Horror Camp LIVE! challenges campers to undertake a series of dare games, during which they will be split up from the rest of the group. Each campers experience will be different, but all will include content which is intended to shock, scare and entertain. Campers will navigate around a series of indoor and outdoor environments during the experience, with shocks, surprises and scares around every turn.
Suitable for those aged 18 and over, Horror Camp LIVE! is perfect for stag and hen parties, team building events and celebrations. It is also available exclusively to groups of 30 or more. We cannot admit campers under the age of 18.
The experience begins at 8.00pm and includes several hours for sleeping. Survivors leave the site at 9.00am, 13 hours after they arrived.
