The Inland Empire is home to a few very well-known and revered Southern California haunted attractions, including Coffin Creek and The Dreich Society. And in 2023, a new haunt seeks to join the ranks of the terrifying offerings in the region: ScareScape, located in Murietta, California.
ScareScape is shaping up to be a complete scream park, complete with four different mazes, lively entertainment, unique food and drink offerings, and VIP options.
The night begins with a shuttle ride to the park entrance, in which guests will be prepared to embark on “unforgettable encounter with a nightmare come-to-life.” Once inside the grounds, four mazes will present some of “humankind’s most common phobias.” These mazes include the following:
- Eternal Echoes, a ghost-themed haunted house in which guests will navigate the winding corridors, an abandoned graveyard, murky swamps and then descend into the depths of the forgotten catacombs
- Wayward Souls, a house haunted by the spirits who remain trapped in the plane of the living
- The Void, a blackout maze where guests will have to “feel” their way out
- Delirium, a VIP-only experience that takes you into a macabre world of twisted performers, flashing lights, haunting melodies, and grotesque sideshow stars (and clowns of course)
VIP ticket holders also receive express access to the mazes as well as entrance to the Sideshow Spirit Lounge. Here, guests can sip on “Instagram-worthy” creepy cocktails from the “Drinks for Freaks” menu while rubbing elbows with grotesque sideshow stars like the bearded lady, swamp creatures, or even a fortune teller.
If you don’t want to shell out the extra bucks for VIP, don’t fear: General Admission Bar and GA maze signature cocktails will be available to all ticket holders.
And if alcohol’s not your thing, there’s also custom coffee drinks from Snapshot Coffee Bar, who have crafted 5 specialty lattes inspired by the mazes at ScareScape. The event will also feature local artisanal vendors and food trucks with sweet and savory options, including Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins, Gooey Cinnamon Rolls, and Freshly Baked Soft Pretzels, to name a few.
ScareScape opens September 29 and runs selected nights through October 29. Tickets start at $25 USD, with a limited supply of VIP tickets available starting at $45 USD. Witching Hour tickets are available online only starting at a discounted price of $20 USD while supplies last, restrictions apply.
