In less than a week, Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest (Valencia, CA) will open its gates, and we’re excited to report that the event is adding three new mazes for 2012. For many years, their mazes were stagnant and didn’t change much, but over the past few years, Six Flags has made a big effort in improving Fright Fest, and they have become a very competitive Halloween offering in the Southern California area. Of course, their collection of coasters is unmatched, and their tag line, “Thrills by day, fright by night,” is a great description of the unique way they have combined their daytime and nighttime attractions. Rather than being a separate ticketed event, the Fright Fest mazes are only a $10 add-on to the general admission ticket. And with a current tally of 8 mazes, that’s not a bad deal at all.

New Mazes for 2012

Willoughby’s Resurrected

We’ve heard that this maze, one of the originals from Fright Fest’s beginnings, has been completely revamped this year.

Eerie twists await you at the Granddaddy of all mazes….there’s hair raising terror around each nightmarish turn and dreadful screams down the long twisting hallways.

Blackout

Unexpectedly, local construction has veiled the world into darkness. Now your mind must find your way as you wind around with no light to guide you. Scream if you must and hold on to those you think you can trust.

Black Widow

Get tangled in a web of terror as you struggle to survive the Black Widow’s nest.

Returning Mazes

  • Chupacabra
  • Cursed
  • The Aftermath
  • Lecter’s Slaughterhouse
  • Jokester’s Hideout 3D

And as always, Colossus will once again run backwards during the event.

Fright Fest begins October 5 and runs Fridays-Sundays in October
